Turn Down for Math? - Introducing the MLSec Project Discussion Group

Written by Alex Pinto

There is not a lot more than I can say about my "Secure Because Math" talk that has not been covered on this article from Dark Reading. Go check it out. I'll wait.

I believe it describes the intent and motivation I had on puting it together and also outlines some of the concerns I raised on it. For more details, please have a look at the slides. We will share the video as soon as it is available.

I left the presentation with an action item for people to sign up for the private beta of our Threat Intelligence-based malware and attack detection service. This has been a natural evolution of all the research we have been doing for the past 1.5 years, and we should have some more announcements around it soon. You should totally check it out!

But also, after talking to a lot of like-minded individuals during the conferences, I decided to put together a working/discussion group of sorts for Machine Learning in Security practioneers so we can exchange some ideas and experiences.

This is meant to be a closed trust group for now, but please, reach out to me at alexcp@mlsecproject.org if you feel you can contribute. The goal is to create an inclusive community as we move forward.
